“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport.
General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that.
It seems to me that LOVE is everywhere.
Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends.
When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of LOVE.
If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion…LOVE actually is all around.”
I have a lovely friend who wrote this as her status on facebook.
“Tonight I admitted to my lovely husband, that I was jealous of him…..The reason for this was that we have 4 photo frames with our grandbabies and they are all POPPY AND GRANDAD ONES!!!!! They have been married for over 30 years and are so wonderful to each other, it’s a testimony to sticking to their wedding vows.
“You are beautiful…when you let friends have their space, when you believe, when you laugh, or are moved to tears, when you let it just roll right off your back, when you talk about your dreams, when you help a turtle across the road, when you try to do the right thing even when it comes out wrong, when you love.” ~ Anonymous
“May you love as long as you live and live as long as you love”. ~ Robert Heinlein
From this day forward,
You shall not walk alone.
My heart will be your shelter,
And my arms will be your home. ~ Author Unknown
“Today I begin to understand what love must be, if it exists. When we are parted, we each feel the lack of the other half of ourselves. We are incomplete like a book in two volumes of which the first has been lost. That is what I imagine love to be: incompleteness in absence.” ~ Goncourt
”True love is rare, so when you find it don’t let it go just because of a barrier you can’t cross”. Ray H Wall
I love this. How often does it all just look too hard? How often do we think to ourselves “if only things were different, I was different, they were different”.
Well it’s time to break free of this thinking, our Bible says “I can do all things through Christ who STRENGTHENS me”.
Take the leap. Peter stepped out onto the water
Be strong. Through Christ who strengthen you.
Take a stand. Jesus tore through the temple and got rid of the money makers.
Have faith. Live under grace not religion. New Testament not Old Testament.
True love is more about being real than being touchy feely. It’s about the kind of love Jesus has for us. He gave up His life for us.
From law to grace.
He crossed the barrier for us.
It’s been raining here in Queensland for about the last three months, what a Summer! Right now I hear another storm brewing, it’s hot and sticky, there are floods everywhere, and yet life goes on.
Yesterday we heard of the passing of Whitney Houston, sad for her fans, but a tragedy for her family and loved ones, and yet life goes on.
There is strife in the Middles East, famine in Africa, a drug war in South America, financial crisis in Europe…and on and on, and yet life goes on.
The fact is that no one is immuned to tragedy, sadness, death. It makes us weary, lose our joy, and yet life goes on.
I want more than…and yet life goes on…I want joy, peace, hope.
I desire peace and harmony in my home and my children’s homes.
I want to see the marriages around me thriving, growing, being an example of what a truly loving marriage has to offer.
Look to the heavens.
Philippians 4:6 NKJV Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Psalm 37:4 AMP Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
